It’s late afternoon and the sun is shining outside. You’re walking through your home or apartment enjoying the setting sunlight and that’s when you see them. The dust bunnies dancing carelessly around the floor and on top of the furniture. You may even see a cosmic array of airborne dust floating in a ray of sunlight streaming through an open window.
Maybe your next thorough office cleaning is weeks away. Maybe you’re trying to quell the onslaught of allergy-related sick time guaranteed to steal at least some of your office’s productivity this spring. Maybe you’re expecting an important client to visit the office in a few days. Whatever your reason for tackling these little rascals, here’s what you can do to perk up your office space in a hurry.
Use the right tools
Capture loose and flying dust using a damp mop or a Swiffer® dust pad. Never use dry tools when trying to eliminate dust as they will just disturb debris and send settled dust airborne. You can also use a damp paper towel or microfiber cloth.
Proper technique
Using your chosen dust grabbing utensil, spray your product or some water onto a clean cloth and begin wiping the furniture including lamps, tables, and other office furniture. Be sure to remove items such as magazines or coasters that are sitting on tables rather than wiping around them.
Vacuum
The thing about dust is that it likes to cling in lots of clean and hard-to-reach places. Address this by using a vacuum brush on lampshades, chairs, upholstery, windowsills, and anything else that collects dust. You can also spray water onto a cloth and this will hold the dust as well.
